Titusville Student Advisory Council

This Committee shall consist of eight students, four appointed from Titusville High School and four from Astronaut High School. In addition, two alternate students shall be appointed from each school. Each school shall establish a procedure for the appointment and selection of one student for each academic grade. Each school shall internally adopt its own procedure for the selection of a student from each academic grade level giving an equal opportunity for all students to be considered for selection and appointment to the Student Advisory Committee and to the extent possible, reflecting the demographics of the student body. The committee shall provide an opportunity for students to participate in matters affecting local government and to advise and make recommendations on various concerns or issues to be presented to the City Council. The mission of the Student Advisory Committee is to encourage involvement of young people in community affairs and create an awareness of their rights and responsibilities as citizens of Titusville. Said schools shall select and appoint members by the first regular meeting of the City Council during the month of September.
