Residential Smoke Detector Program - The
goal of this program is to have a working smoke detector in each home within the city.
Through funding from a Community Development Block Grant, we can provide smoke detectors
and batteries at no cost to residents who qualify. In 2000, 155 smoke detectors and/or
batteries were installed by our crews.
Child Restraint Seat Protection Program -
The goal of this program is to educate child care givers (parents, grandparents,
babysitters, etc.) on the proper method to install child restraint seats in their vehicles
and how to insure that children are properly restrained in the event of vehicle accidents.
