Public Works - Fast Facts
  • The Public Works Administrative Division is facilitating a citywide infrastructure replacement plan that includes the inventory and assessment of roughly $400 million in city buildings, rolling stock, road rights-of-way and water/wastewater/reuse-stormwater utilities.
  • The Public Works Administrative Division facilitated the development of the 10-year road-repaving plan and is currently facilitating the development of a 30-year road maintenance program.
  • In addition to managing eight (8) street repaving projects, the Engineering Division managed construction of the Country Club Drive stormwater underdrain system, the rehabilitation of the Veterans Memorial Pier Rock Revetment, and dredging of the Sand Point Slip.
  • Besides designing the rehabilitation of the 910-foot long marina seawall, several drainage projects, and a concrete stem wall for the Veterans Pier Rehabilitation Project, the Engineering Division has performed hurricane shelter evaluations and a comprehensive report on the structural deterioration of the former concession building at the Veterans’ Memorial Pier.
  • The Solid Waste Division is consistently ranked one of the city’s top service providers. As part of that service, the division provides a 24-hour response time to resolve a customer problem or complaint to their satisfaction.
  • Since the implementation of the city’s curbside recycling program in 1989, the city still maintains a nearly 70% participation rate in the program.
  • Street Maintenance Division provides manpower and equipment to facilitate the City’s ten year repaving program which will save the City significant time and money in addressing 60 miles of roads over the next 10 years..
  • Street Maintenance Division provides landscape maintenance on 131 high visibility medians (26.93 acres) throughout the City.
  • Facilities Maintenance maintains 15 buildings (121,873 square feet of office space) 9 parks, and 18 acres of property.
  • Facilities Maintenance electricians also maintain traffic signals at 38 intersections, 315 whiteway streetlights and 208 flags on U.S. 1.
  • Vehicle Maintenance Division provides maintenance and repair services for 732 units comprising vehicles, heavy equipment and small engines for all City departments.
  • Vehicle Maintenance performs 5,500 work orders per year and supplies 216,000 gallons of fuel for all City departments and agencies.
  • The Titusville Municipal Marina provides dockage and other services to local residents. The Titusville Municipal Marina is host to various fishing tournaments and sponsors Safe Boating Week with the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
  • The Titusville Municipal Marina serves as the city’s "gateway" to the marine visitors who cruise the Intercostal Waterway, and encourages patronage of local businesses and services. It is anticipated that this year we will accommodate over 3,500 visiting vessels.
