| Jorge Rivera Employee of the Month For June, 2004 The Solid Waste Employee-of-the-Month for June 2004 is Jorge Rivera. Jorge started to work for the City of Titusville in August 1989 as a Refuse Collector and worked his way up through the ranks to an Equipment Operator III. In October of 1996 he was promoted to his current position as Foreman.

| As a Forman in the Solid Waste Division Jorge is responsible
for the residential operations of the division. He coordinates daily household trash
routes and recycling routes and until last month coordinated the containerized yard trash
collections. In addition he handles garbage misses and complaints from customers. Most
recently Jorge has been involved in the pilot program for the rear load trucks working to
implement a once-a-week collection of all yard trash. Jorge has a "can do" attitude and always has a smile even when asked to do the jobs no one else wants to do such as sifting through dumped garbage for customers lost personal items such as wallets, wedding rings or other valuables. He puts his best foot forward every day. He works long hours when the garbage routes are running late on holiday weeks and is always willing to lend a hand even if that means getting on a garbage truck himself. He works well with others as a team. In addition, he does not require numerous directions or instructions to complete a task. His work performance is efficient and timely and he is one of the division's most productive employees. I wish I could "clone" Jorge because I know the job would get done with 110% effort and there would be no complaining. |
