| Roy Floss for the
Employee of the Month January 2004 Roy Floss is an outstanding equipment mechanic. His initiative is demonstrated on a daily basis as he goes beyond "normal duties" to ensure the efficiency and productivity of the Fleet Management operation. Roy proved his initiative by self- improvement efforts resulting in his being awarded twenty-nine National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence certifications. |

| This achievement makes him one of the highest rated mechanics anywhere in local government fleet operations. Roy is an expert in heavy equipment suspension repair and is consistently assigned the most difficult projects, always completing them in minimal time with superior results. He uses his expertise to train other less skilled and experienced mechanics improving the overall capabilities of the Maintenance Services Division. Roy took it upon himself to become the manager of tire replacement operations to include organizing stock for efficient reorder and issue, scheduling change outs, and taking care of tire equipment. He is the expert in tire requirements and alignment. He volunteered to completely reconfigure the tire inventory storage facility and worked many long hours overtime to meet customer time lines and decrease equipment down time. Roy is the key to the City's successful fleet operations. |
