The City of Titusville won the annual countywide Trash Bash for the fourth year in a row and was presented a check in the amount of $500.

The City of Titusville won Category A (includes Titusville, Melbourne, Palm Bay) in the 18th Annual Keep Brevard Beautiful Trash Bash. The award is for the most litter collected based on population. Titusville also won the overall most trash collected in all cities with 133 volunteers that removed 47,540 pounds of litter from the roads and woods of Titusville. Wastes Management is the sponsor for this event and donates $500 to each winner.

This sum would, in turn, be presented to outstanding participants in the Trash Bash:

  • North Brevard Keep Brevard Beautiful - $200
  • Titusville High JROTC - $150
  • Legendary Jeep - $150

Formal presentations of the checks will be made at the June 10th council meeting.

About Trash Bash 2003
Every April for the past 18 years, individuals and groups have joined Keep Brevard Beautiful in our community to help clean up unsightly litter. They help remove debris from neighborhoods, parks, roadsides, shorelines and wherever litter is found. By providing an example of positive behavior, volunteers help change attitudes about litter. As a result of the action taken by volunteers during Trash Bash, our community looks clean and beautiful and there is a sense of community pride. The best reward is NO UGLY LITTER
